I am looking for a subsistute for toco-8. My searches lead to red palm oil. Has anyone tried this? Are there any better more cost effective products out there?

why not just go with the Wicked Supps Toco capsules? Wicked Supplements - Res100 - Toco Caps (http://www.onlinenutrition.com.au/brands/Wicked-Supplements.html)

Also looks like Jarrow makes a Toco-sorb supplement, but looks to be weaker.

I can't seem to find a general toco break down of the oil to compare to the toco 8 dosage for a refrence point.
For the price and versitility the oil seems pretty sweet if it retains any nutritional value by the time it makes it to my plate.

NOTE: Tococaps due to Australian Law we can only list the minimum typical values on our labels they can vary by +30% and in most cases will be at least 20% higher than what the label states.

We are going to be in talking soon with the firms to see if this can be changed or have it tested so we can list that amount.

The reason is based on season when the fruit is picked or its maturation it can vary in dose but the quality we receive is always very very high so when you look at the doses per capsule basically add 20-30% to those totals and thats how many toco's you are receiving.

I have tried to substitute Red Palm Oil for a while for the toco's and it works. But to get the equivalent Vit E, you need a lot. One table spoon has on average 16mg of mixed toco's. To get the same dose as Toco 8 (130mg) you would need 8 Tbs of oil. That is 1/2 a cup of oil! Possible but difficult. Using RPO every day for general Vit E needs has worked for me. But for a PCT or restart, I think the supplement is the way to go. I hope this is the info you needed.

I assumed it would have been cost prohibitive to try toco caps due to shipping 1/2 way across the world but after checking the site it still looks like a pretty decent deal. I'll try them next.

Yes it actually is expensive to ship to you guys however we wear some of that cost, We only charge $14.95 for shipping to the USA however it costs about $20

Just one of the things we do to try and help you guys out.

I put my jar of rpo into the fridge and it solidifed nicely. Spoofulls taste fine and go down easy. I havn't tried to blend any into a shake yet but i don't predict it being an issue.

I like putting a scoop or two in soups and stews. The oil goes down nicely. Also fantastic with curries if you are going the curcumin and ginger route.
The oil does have a slightly different month feel, but I feel performance trumps palate every time!

by these statements it sounds as though it's still the toco's inside doing the hard work this oil is just another form.
Also i have been unable to find any info on actual mg's of toco's per bottle or serving......kinda like us selling tococaps with no nutritional info on the label.

The main health benefits that Dr. Oz mentioned in his show were unique
health benefits that are uniquely demonstrated by the tocotrienols and not
palm oil on its own. They were based on the science / published scientific
papers on Tocomin® / Tocomax / Tocomin SupraBio® – natural full spectrum
palm tocotrienol complex, the concentrated form of tocotrienol (ie. brain
health, cardioprotection, cholesterol reduction, potent antioxidant, etc) for
soft gel formulation / dietary supplement applications

Without tocotrienols and mixed carotene, the palm oil would just be a
another cooking oil / frying oil but lacks the health benefits. What is great
is that Dr Oz mentioned many times the benefits of tocotrienols -
neuroprotection, cardioprotection, potent antioxidant, etc.

by my scale 2tsp of oil weighs 5g... so according to my math (if anyone cares, please double check) and the #s provided by this sample 2tsp should contain around.

alpha-tocopherol .9mg/2tsp
beta-tocopherol 0mg2tsp
gamma-tocopherol 0mg/2tsp
delta-tocopherol 0mg/2tsp

alpha-tocotrienols 1.345mg/2tsp
beta-tocotrienols .195mg/2tsp
gamma-tocotrienols 2.03mg/2tsp
delta-tocotrienols .735mg/2tsp

5.205mg/2tsp

My math could be seriously fucked up but it looks like about a full cup of rpo to = 1 serving of tococaps... sounds grim

How does the toco caps ingredient profile stack up against Toco-8?

it's much higher and not watered down with tapioca flour:

Well now there is even more reason to take TocoCaps over Toco8.

It seems Primordial Performance have weakened their product in order to save some money.
So no longer is Toco8 60 days worth it is now 30 days worth as it has been watered down with Tapioca Flour.

Toco8 = a total of 4590mg of Tocotrienols/Tocopherols Per container
TocoCaps = a total of 6500mg of Tocotrienols/Tocopherols Per container

Which makes the nutritional value as follows:

Toco8
