Training wise; There are two main consequences of low stomach acid:
You become protein malnourished. When your stomach acid is low, you are not able to digest protein.

You become mineral deficient

So basically, if you have low stomach acid- you're not going nowhere as you'll be malnourished, feeling weak, and have different muscle issues (cramps etc...) to begin with and viscious circle gets worse...
You could eat plenty of protein and still be protein malnourished. This raises cortisol levels (stress or death hormone), thereby raising your blood glucose (blood sugar levels). Elevated cortisol adversely affects your behavior and temperment.
Eventually, your adrenals become depleted (adrenal fatigue)

Stomach acid or hydrochloric acid (HCl) important functions include:

Breaking down proteins into the essential amino acids and nutrients your body needs in order to stay healthy.
Stimulating your pancreas and small intestines to produce the digestive enzymes and bile necessary to further breakdown the carbohydrates, proteins and fats you eat.
Preventing disease by killing pathogenic bacteria and yeast normally present in food.

Jeffrey Dach MD Bio-Identical Hormone Blog: Hair Loss From Low Stomach Acid, The Lady In Grey by Jeffrey Dach MD (http://jeffreydach.com/2013/03/10/hair-loss-from-low-stomach-acid-the-lady-in-grey.aspx)

Symptoms of Low Gastric Acid

1) Belching, bloating, burning, or “acid reflux” after eating, immediately after meals.
2) a sense of fullness after eating.
3) Indigestion and constipation because food is not being digested properly
4) Skin conditions such as Acne, Rosacea, Urticaria, Eczema
Dilated blood vessels in the cheeks and nose (in non-alcoholics), this is called "Rosacea Acne
5) Vertical ridging on the nails because of inability to absorb nutrients from food, Weak, peeling, and cracked fingernails.
6) Leg and foot cramps from mineral deficiencies because you are not absorbing minerals.
7) Chronic injuries due poor amino acid status and inability to restore tissue, muscle atrophy and wasting.
8) Multiple Food allergies, which may be associate d with asthma.
9) Gallstones. You may have already had a cholecystectomy.
10) Poor cognitive function and the onset of dementia.
11) Low bone mineral density and osteoporosis.
12) Itching around the rectum from parasites.

Diseases Associated with Low Gastric Acid

Addison's disease
Anemia-Iron Deficiency
Asthma - see the Jonathan Wright Book for a discussion of proper treatment of asthma in children with B12 injections, B6 Magnesium, avoiding food allergens and addressing low gastric acid.
Celiac disease - Wheat gluten sensitivity - Enterolabs, Cyrex labs, antigliadin antibody
Chronic autoimmune disorders-entire list of autoimmune diseases
Chronic hives
Cognitive Dysfunction and Dementia from B12 deficiency
Dermatitis herpetiformis (herpes)-typical for wheat gluten sensitivity
Depression- Leaky Gut with LPS (see articles by Michael Maes)
Diabetes - Autoimmune type one
Eczema
Gall bladder disease - associated with hypochlorhydia
Graves disease-Autoimmune-Elevated TSH receptor ab-Yersinia molecular Mimciry with TSH receptor
Hepatitis
Iron deficiency-Low Iron and Low ferritin
Hyper and hypothyroidism- Autoimmune-Hashimotos Thyroiditis
Lupus erythematosus -autoimmune
Myasthenia gravis
Neuropathy and NeuroPsychiatric Disorder from B12 deficiency
Osteoporosis-from Calcium Malabsorption
Pernicious anemia - Parietal Cell Antibodies-B12 deficiency-gastric atrophy
Psoriasis-autoimmune
Rheumatoid arthritis-autoimmune
Rosacea
Sjögren’s syndrome - Autoimmune
Thyrotoxicosis-three types: Graves, Hashitoxicosis, and Txic Nodular Goiter
Vitiligo
Chronic intestinal parasites or abnormal flora -GI-Fx shows parasite DNA
Undigested food in stool-Demonstrated on GI-FX test
Chronic candida infections-from gut dysbiosis
Upper digestive tract gassiness-from dysbiosis

Betaine HCL + pepsin has been a godsend for me. Digestive enzymes helped too but betaine HCL got my digestion back on track after taking antibiotics for 4 months.

Low stomach corrosive in the long run makes an endless loop: low stomach corrosive = low minerals = acidic blood. This cycle proceeds in light of the fact that acidic blood further makes .
