Wraps?

I think we should be able to use 2-3 meter knee wraps (or super heavy knee sleeves), wrist wraps, and a belt.

Wraps and belts are fine. But let's stay away from suits and shirts for this contest since not everyone will have them.

Sounds good, I compete raw, so this will work 100% for me.

Agree'd. I like something on the knees to keep the knee pain away.

Would anyone be opposed to me using my Sept 21st #s and vids as my starting point a since I won't be getting maxes again for another 8-9 weeks?

I'll allow it. That was only 2 weeks ago, so strength wouldnt really be any different in that time frame.

Sweet, this gives me more of an incentive to post up my vids as quickly as possible!

above. And realistically you rested one of those weeks anyways. Not to mention the shock of a first full meet probably left you a little worse for wear.

Yeah, still looking forward to those videos!

I'll see if I can record my training next week and join in for this one. Since I'm kinda using the principles of the accumulation phase for these weeks I'm not going as heavy as I know I can. I might join in real soon though!

My dad has the failed DL @ 512, thats really the one I want on share the most. He's is Vegas so I will get that one and a couple other next week. He's going to email them to me. I have the squats, and the DL. I'm still trying to track down the other vids. Next meet, I'm going to have someone dedicated to taking vids.

I just want to announce that our site sponsor, GymNtonic.com, will be providing a prize from their store for the winner of the Strength under 200 class, in the most improved category. This category is up for grabs, so jump in and be a part of this!

Thank you Wes!

Uhm yeah get those vids in!

So whose going to come join the fun in the heavyweights with me?
I got back to training this week, decided I'd climb back into my gear to help protect my joints while I work back up to the heavier weights. You know messing around mostly:
Tim Baker 765 multiply squat. Dukes Iron Zoo - YouTube (http://youtu.be/Ui9HdqPrQG0)
I know gear doesn't count.. just a reminder I'm still lifting

BoneDaddy... get in on this! Award is given for "most improved" also... heck, at this point you could probably win that without doing any specific strength training.

And Sorrow... you made it look easy peasy! Nice going!

So I never took vids. Can I take them with what I knew were my maxes on oct 19 even though I've gained strength since?

burlyman30

I'd like to allow this, but I think its only fair to get feedback from the other competitors in the strength class prior to making a ruling.

Sorrow

I'd say allow it, as I'm guessing there's probably some kind of reference in your log over that time range we could kind of hold you too. Lets see what everyone else has to say.

Push come to shove get some videos in now of what you can do now and get on it!
Yes its a disadvantage time-wise... or is it just more of a challenge? ...

So when the contest started I could bench 275x1, now I can do 285 or maybe more. Squat was at 315x1 but now can do x6. Dead was at 425x1 and now it's back at 460.

Up to you guys.

OK.. your strength is up from before, but not so much that your stated previous maxes aren't believable. I am not hearing any beefs from other strength competitors, so videotape yourself at the previous maxes. Get in this contest bud!

Hit a 60# PR on DL Monday, managed to pull 555#s! I'll post up a vid here, or I may just start a thread to track my progress.

Post it as a progress video in the contest thread... use the same post and put a date on it and add it to the bottom. We will know it's a progress vid and not a "starting vid".

And... NICE GOING on that pull. You are getting strong, amigo!

Will do Bman! And all that hard work has definitely been paying off on every lift!

Oh, and if you WANT to start a separate thread for your progress vids, feel free to do so. I just wanted it on record in an easy-to-find place.
