View Full Version : Giving Stenadrol a shot

I'd like to thank SoCal for hooking me up and giving me a bottle to log here. I've used Msten in the past, but not Mithras so it'll be interesting to see how the adjunct alters the effects. I've been cruising for awhile on 600mg E as well for the past few months while I've been attempting to get healthy after a rough patch of training last year. I started running LGI Damage Control for this run as a support supp, but that's the only addition besides the Stenadrol. I'm not expecting too much in terms of huge strength gains, but I'd like to add 6-8# by the end of the bottle. I've been utilizing carb backloading for awhile as it allows me to stay leaner and eat like a fat kid at night.

Nah, I'm not a big user of orals to begin with and running test with it is enough of a stack for me.

We made a mistake and sent Rodja a bottle of the Stenabol (m-sten) instead of the Stenadrol.

the correct product will be shipped out tomorrow...sorry for the error and the associated delays!

Even though I haven't started using the product, I figured I get the log started. Today was a relatively easy day in terms on volume and weight. We started late and I didn't have enough time to get in accessory work, but I've been hammering the shit out of my lower body lately and I've noticed that doing this once every 3-4 weeks is actually beneficial. I do a lot more driving now than I have in the past and it leaves my hips tight and knees achy. I have only worked above 600 once since my last meet in August and I likely won't be doing another one until this August due to injuries (I've only been able to bench pain-free once this year) and schedule.

What are all your current injuries? I remember you had a problem keeping your legs under the bench

That was a groove issue more than an injury and finding the groove is always week to week.

Injury wise, I've been able to tackle 90% of my hip issues, which have made my lower back very happy. I've finally discovered a way to stretch the fascia of the psoas and piriformis that were causing my hip impingement and lumbar tightness. The white whale lately, though, has been my right AC joint. The inflammation in the area is low, but I have a lot of mid-trap tightness along with an extra tight supraspinatus that I've been unable to correct. I can always do OHP without pain, but other presses cause a hell of a lot of discomfort along with overall instability.

For some reason, whenever I go heavy on deadz (Friday) my left AC joint area feels annoyingly misplaced throughout the weekend, especially when I wake up (even though I sleep on my right side).

Monday when I hit Delts and back, heavy or high reps It ends up feeling better. I've been seeing a physiotherapist for this issue for 3 weeks now. Been feeling a bit better until last Friday when I attempted my max again in deadz.

Any rehab exercises or stretching that has been working for you personally? I always learn a LOT from you bruh

(sry to kinda hi-jack the purpose of this thread! You could PM me if anything)

Anything beyond 315 I switch to over/under grip. And I vary. I'm stronger with my right hand supinated. But sometimes I switch it to try to get my left grip to catch up in strength. I can't remember if last Friday I attempted it with the right supinated but I'm pretty sure it was the right hand.

Nice training btw! You stayed away from incline DB because of the AC joint? These days I can't do any incline BB press at all... or it would have to be really light and stretched very very carefully.

Incline hasn't been a bother until recently, but flat and dips have been no go.

Can you share this with us? I've been having hip impingement issues as well, and groin/adductor issues as well. My wife is an OT and has been been giving me trigger pt therapy in those areas… It def help, but the other day when squatting, I had an Oh Shit moment when I was coming out of the whole. Felt a pop in the right adductor/groin area. I'm able to walk and air squat, but Im talking a wk or 2 off the give it time to heal. I'll get to work with a PT from her office that specializes in sports injuries. I truthfully feel that my adductors are weak compared to my quads and my hams; I've been having this issue in the left side as well.

The adductors will always be comparatively weak to the quads and hams. The small muscles and connective tissue are often the weak links, which is why I explain gear as something akin to extra connective tissue.

The method I found is something known as ELDOA. It's a French acronym from Guy Voyer and is kinda like ME yoga. The best thing to do is to look it up on YouTube as it's impossible to explain without video.

Shoulder felt good enough today to where I gave bench a shot. I had to bring in my grip a finger to alleviate some of the pressure on the shoulder, but it felt really nice to actually bench again. I forgot to update this earlier, but I'm ~215 right now following a quasi-hybrid of IF and CBL. At this point in my life, IF has just become natural as I don't get hungry for several hours after I wake up in the morning and this allows me to indulge more often and it lessens some of the damage since I'm not constantly bombarding my insulin levels.

Today was a fantastic day. Things felt a little off while I was working up and I nearly missed one of my unracks. I lowered the height and then everything clicked. The speed was a tad slow out of the hole and then it flew up once I was ~2" out of the hole. In hindsight, I should've taken one more set with reverse bands since I hit a good groove. However, I don't have a meet coming up and this was plenty of improvement for me.

As with most fast-acting orals, I've noticed that this combo is a glycogen monster. I've been really slamming down the carbs at night (~400-450g) and staying dry in the morning. I'll weigh-in tomorrow, but I'm almost positive I'm close to 220 right now.

So, I've managed to somehow lose weight the past few days, but it didn't effect my performance today or yesterday. My appetite has been inconsistent lately as I'm either feeling really bleh or insatiable. I don't want to completely attribute this to the Stenadrol, but my guess is that it's playing a part in it. Either way, I'm not too worried as long as I continue to increase my numbers. This is the heaviest I've pulled in close to 9 months and my only critique would be speed off of the floor. My positioning was great and I felt locked in on the rep.

Last two bench sessions have been successful. Even with a shitty bar and a bench that felt like it was coated with butter I was able to increase my numbers from my last session. Using the Ram at that light of a weight helped me to reawaken the motor program and have to pull the bar down and drive my heels into the floor.

That being said, the sides the last few days have really kicked in. I'm pretty damn lethargic, my sleep is very shallow, and my appetite is virtually nil right now.

When you do OHP, is it a strict OHP or do you have a little leg drive to get the bar off the chest? I tend to get a little leg drive at the bottom, but nothing like a pure push press.

Strict and with a staggered stance. I no longer go to the clavicles at the bottom so I can maintain my elbow positioning. I go slightly below my chin so I can maintain my positioning and, most importantly, tension in my lats to stabilize the bar.

I was flat as hell today. I was half asleep walking into the gym and it didn't really get any better. I had brain fog more than just fatigue. Bar speed was a little meh on the sets and I was having issues with positioning and centration. To at least get in some good work, I decided to turn the ancillaries into conditioning work. I'm really able to get some really good contractions in my traps and erectors again, which is a great sign of potential for improvement in my numbers. On the plus side, I'm was 222.8 this morning (~7# increase since the start).

3 caps for the majority of it until about 4 days ago. Not going to lie, it hasn't been the greatest experience from a compound. It's not M1T level of sides, but definitely more than the orals I've run in the past (including msten solo).

You know, sometimes I'm an idiot and get off-track. Looking back at my old training, I've noticed that I get stronger and maintain health when I have a high amount of shoulder volume. None of it is heavy outside of the OHP, but the amount of overall work done increases mass and, ergo, stability of the joint. Not coincidentally, I've been getting healthier and stronger since I've started blasting my delts 2x/week.

Today was almost like being in a shirt for the first time again. I had good strength on the lifts, but speed and tightness were an issue (no ****). I'm not able to fully retract the scapula and it effected my ability to stay right in the lats after the liftoff. It'll come in time, though.

I wrote 3 specific goals for this year:
705 squat
501 bench
601 deadlift

So far, I've hit the 601 pull. Granted, I should've gotten that **** a year ago, but better later then never. Squats are moving up and I'll be giving 700 a whirl straps up in a month or so. I'm giving myself 2 months of shirt work before I'm getting back to my old numbers.

Straps up for the first time since my last meet, which was in August. I didn't feel nearly as rough as I expected and my unrack looked much better than last time I did this weight a couple of weeks ago. 705 is the goal for the year and I'm on the right track to get there.

FINAL REVIEW

I'll break this up into three categories: experience while running it, strength, and body comp

Experience
Frankly, this was a very, very rough ride for me. Within a week, the lethargy hit hard and it didn't really let up. I know that it's due to the potency of the product, so be prepared to be eating a shitload of carbs to keep glycogen high and stave off some of the lethargy. 5/10

Strength
I broke through a long-standing deadlift plateau and hit 600 smoothly. This was the most significant PR with some other smaller ones sprinkled in there. I comfortably hit ~655 on squat as well, which may be a PR for me at this weight, but I can't recall. 8/10

Body Comp
I leaned out while gaining ~6# during the run. I didn't take any BF% at any point, but it's evident from the pics that BF was dropped. 9/10

Overall, this is far from a beginner product and would consider it a more advanced product. Ideally, this needs to be run with some form of test and/or DHT base to mitigate some of the sides.

Missed these pics when I last checked. Rodja, awesome transformation for such a short run!!!! Lats def came out more clearly, thinner waist! And looking way harder than before!

You've been carb back loading every day of the week? Or only on lift days?? And for how many hours a day?

Nice job, Rodja. Have you taken a standard methyl sten product before and if so, how would you compare them?

Each day and somewhere between 3-6 hours depending on when I train on a given day. Sundays are the days of the biggest backloads as I'm done training by ~5 and gorge until bed.

I've taken Ultradrol up to 20mg/day. The synergy between the two compounds at 3 caps/day really kicked my ass. I'd say without a doubt that you'd need to be running a solid bulk with a lot of carbs throughout the day.
