Is Vit D also good for women to take? If so, what benefits would they expect?

Mod Note: Moved post, please do not discuss studies in the database.

Absolutely! Vitamin D is key for women. Women usually have bone density issues, especially after menopause. Vitamin D helps with bone density. It's also great to help prevent almost every type of cancer. If she needs bone density help, have her take it 2 times a day with calcium.

More than 100 research showed no improvement in bone density with post-menopausal women, if anything there were lot of incidents of kidney stones, now I dont know what dosages they used- it may be overkill, which would not surprise me as most of studies are done by dilettantes.
On other hand vitamin d plays role in female fertility, protects cells against oxidation, and also vitamin d is needed for hormonal production. lack of vitamin d also plays role in metabolism of carbohydrates.
Low levels of vit d are also causing improper neuromuscular connection and can cause muscle pain, and low vit d levels are seen in patients with fibrmyalgia.
Vitamin d also has some anti-inflamatory role.
So overall- vitamin d is needed, best is to get it from natural sources. When supplementin best is to combine it with some calcium and magnesium (but all in moderate doses).
