Hello

I'm a 21 year old from Liverpool England currently suffering with PFS

I took one pill of generic finasteride around early December 2019, I decided to discontinue after taking this one pill due to already having problems similar to these after a course of roaccutane that left me with erectile problems, and I think some definite mental health problems. I recovered from all of these after a year.
After taking fin i noticed my left eye twitching heavily and i couldn't achieve an erection. I stopped and everything returned to normal for a few weeks but then i was hit with very bad sides(this was my crash as it has been labelled).

At first my symptoms were awful, no morning wood, unable to get erections I would try to wank and i would cum whilst flaccid, constant twitching in my left eye, blurry vision, eye floaters, I'd struggle reading a lot and make a lot of mistakes, I had awful insomnia and had to take melatonin and sleeping tablets, I also had tittinus. The worst were my mental side effects I had severe memory problems and brain fog to the point where conversations were difficult. I did very poor in my university exams for third year in January because of this. I discovered propecia help which made me feel like i would be fucked forever and should just top myself. So I'm staying away from that place for good.

Flash forward several months later to the beginning of may and I have definitely recovered somewhat, I achieve morning wood but they are definitely softer, my vision is usually fine but sometimes I still make little mistakes when i read and it can be a little blurry. Unfortunately at the moment I am definitely depressed and feeling hopeless about my situation which is most likely due to the quarantine isolation were all currently doing. I have noticed some days where my condition is better and my erections are firmer and I have had the DHT itch that was very prominent in between my accutane recovery and this crash but those days disappear quickly. I am able to masturbate however it does not feel ass good as it used to which is shit and my morning woods aren't as strong. I still sometimes have slight tinnitus but it comes and goes really quickly. My semen i also more normal despite not a lot being there. I have recovered to this point despite not exercising, eating like shit, smoking weed and drinking alcohol a fair bit.

I'm now at a point where I want to take my recovery fully seriously, I think I will be fine as i completely recovered from a similar situation with accutane. It just fucking sucks that my early twenties are centred around recovering from this bullshit

Questions:

Have guys here maintained regular sex lives whilst suffering from this, I have an easy cheep way to get Viagra from my gym so i was wondering if anyone could give me some benefit from their experiences?

Should I dive head first into the protocol that CD describes or should i slowly build my own based on the dozens of recovery storeys present on the internet?

If i have slowly recovered whilst not taking it seriously am i likely to recover from this faster with healthy living?

Do i have to do a water fast as I'm not really in a very bad situation like some seem to be, I feel a two week juice cleanse would be fine.

If i add some grains into a paeleo diet but only wholegrain ones which are gluten free and make sure to back load should that be fine?

I'm looking into determine sustain/sustain alpha to kick start my testosterone production has anyone tried this?

Do i need all the herbs if I am to try cycling the herbs?

Don't pickpocket shitee maaaatee, time to get fakin out of there and not just "bit better". Fast as long as you can(5days+) and do the full thing. Juice feasts are WAY harder than waterfasts. Personally I think people should do both, but waterfast should be mandatory since autophagy and deep tissue healing mechanisms don't really take place during juice feasts, it mostly "just" fixes gut and givz minerals, while waterfasts go way beyond that.
If you can't do gym you can do HIIT to yo supermarket. Cold showers, no bread, veggies daily aswell as the shitty ones like celery asparagus whatever tastes ueh. Get sum grass fed wheyy, a mixer and throw that in with a banana+berries tastes like heaven.


If you alrdy slowly recover you will recover faster yes, if you pickpocket stuff, might take loong.
Ma dikk was bent 90degree and rotated on axis, sometimes not even there. Sometimes not able to get any errection for weeks. I'm absolute great when it comes to that now.
Don't kickstart your test with anything besides squads/deadlifts/beef/eggz/sun and sleep^^

don't make this thing a lifelong goal to recover, cuz it's not. Start now and get better day by day
herbs, probably the more the better, but it's expensive af. Personally just read up on all those and decided which one "fit" me a bit, and got like 12 total after awhile. Worth to say they last FORVER if you rotate lol.

If you want to dwell on how rightly fucked you are, hang out there, with that lot. Focus on the bad all the time and never the good, complain that 12 or so hours of the day is dark, as opposed to brightly lit half, you get the point.

That site does a GREAT job of scaring the living shit out of anyone who spends time there.

I get what you're feeling, but you're in it now regardless, so you have a choice to make. Either face, fix it and kick ass, or meekly survive by the doctors prescription pad which will do NOTHING but dig you deeper. Those are your choices.

You're relatively young and even though you've been abusing the shit out of yourself, you've still managed to creep up a bit, symptom wise. I can tell you that if you keep on the road you're on, getting your dick back is gonna be a pain in the ass. You gotta go all in, or really, don't even bother going luke warm. IT NEVER works. I have yet to have somebody tell me that they've recovered by doing half this, half that, etc.

You have to CHOOSE.

I've put in some research and have some questions about the protocol I'm builidng my plan atm and this will help.

Pine pollen. I take this everyday along with my herb rotation do I take this twice a day like all the other herbs and will i not build a tolerance.
Also whats the difference between the extract and the raw powder, I know that the extract is more potent and am assuming it doesn't matter which i choose?

I take each herb twice a day does that mean i take the recommended dose or that i take half the dose twice? This is just to i can budget my cycle properly.

For diet we do paleo, would it be bad some days if I were to eat complex carbs before a workout say for breakfast just so I'm getting a good amount of calories in?
Whats your opinion on milk should i switch to almond milk or can i intake it if its organic and grass fed? I assume I should stay away from the standard processed stuff.

Also for a backoad can it be done in two parts or do i have to eat all the carbs at once? I think i could split it into two meals with proteins and fats if the first is the case.

Finally, with the prohormone cycle I am quite prone to acne do you think i'll have a problem with this?

Pine pollen you can take everyday, and for this you want the powder. It's more complete and has more of the vitamins and minerals where as the tincture is more hormone based. They both have their place, but the powder is more suited for daily dosing. Regardless of which one you use, you WILL NOT build a tolerance to this compound as it seems to work with the body as opposed to against it. You won't get shut down from these natural compounds.

Dosing herbs: You simply follow the dosing guidelines on the package. Usually 1 teaspoon twice a day, depending on the herb. As you get into the protocol and your body starts to heal, you will need less of the herb. That is when you can start lowering the doses of each one. But for the time being, take it as directed.

No complex carbs during the day. Save it for the backloading window. If you need more calories in the a.m. get it from fat or protein.

I don't drink milk, but if you can handle dairy, there is no reason to not have it. Obviously organic grass fed is the best, if you can find it, and afford it.

When backloading, you don't do it all in one shot as that would be practically impossible. You start backloading in the evening and go on for the rest of the night, slamming carbs until your full. I would usually do it in 2-4 portions of carbs only.

You may get acne on a DHT cycle. Honestly, that should be the least of your concerns, but yes, it's a possibility.

What I'm going with is a 14 day cycle with some swapping of supplements everyday which could be taken everyday but due to finances, I have decided not to do so.

Just to let you know I've done something similar with the herbs where I've bought 8 from LEH and the rest from indigo herbs. I'm gonna use the pine pollen twice a day with the herb I'm rotating that day also but looking at the size of the pine pollen it's not gonna last me a month so I'm probably gonna buy one off amazon.

When taking them I usually have some water in my mouth dump a teaspoon in and swirl it round and then down it with more water. Today was ashwagandha and man was that hard to swallow I'm glad I won't see that for almost 2 weeks.

Best of luck on your journey my friend I'm sure as long as we have the basics locked down (diet excercise and herb rotation) we will get to where we wanna be in no time!

I might try to dose pine pollen everyday and still rotate royal jelly, I've seen this bag of pine pollen (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071H753SX/ref=twister_B07CKJWVT4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) here that might be a good option to go with in future.

I've seen that taking the herbs with coffee makes them more potent that might be something you want to look at as well.

Just gotta be patient with this shit. I just meditate a lot to help with that, it also helps knowing I'll come out the other side like a fucking monster.

Believe it or not that is the exact bag of pine pollen I bought from amazon. I did a sniff test and it smells identical to the stuff from LEH which is reassuring. Will still buy from LEH next time I put a big order in and will have to be mega dose packs.

With the coffee I'm a bit hesitant as it can not be tolerated for some people apparently but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.

So couldn't really source royal jelly with a good source in the UK, so I'm just gonna use the pinepollen daily.
Also gonna add in a K2 supplement for bone health along with egg shell calcium like driven to recover said, around 2 to 4 egg shells worth a day to get as much bone recovery as possible just as a precaution.
Also going to buy a bathmate hydromax mixing that in with kegels every other day (which I'll up to every day in a few months after the muscles are stronger dont want to overdo it) and the protocol, I'm hopefully gonna be a stud in no time.

Seen that in paleo and whole30 diets sweet potatoes are permitted so incorporating a few of them into my breakfast and non backloading meals.

7 to 9 day Water fast coming up soon.

Wouldn’t worry too much on Royal Jelly. It never sat well with me during PFS anyway. Works fine now, as a supplement when I do take it. It is so bizarre how certain things work differently during PFS and then after totally the opposite. R Andro comes to mind. Feel like a God on it during PFS, after - two weeks max feeling decent and low estrogen hell.

Yeah think the 14 day herb cycle and pine pollen will be sweet anyway.

Probably going with the ultra hard by iconic formulations as my DHT prohormone (as at 4 pumps a day it stretches out to
5 weeks) for a few cycles then adding in 4 andro later down the line. So let me know how your cycle goes.

Just checking in

Doing ok what I have is manageable atm hoping to make improvements. I'm finding upswings and downswings weird as I don't have full on downswings and upswings its more like I have a mental sides upswing but a sexual sides downswing at the same time.
I haven't been able to fast properly yet but will do soon just had a lot on with my uni at the moment and haven't been able to take a couple days off to do so. Can't go the gym so have been bodyweighting it and doing the sprints.

I've been drinking alchohol with the boys sometimes but am planning to majorly cut down, I feel like in moderation booze and weed wont hamper me with my situation its all about listening to your body, However nothing else.

Been popping some morning woods theyre decent but not pre pfs but it's all good progress kegels have helped me a lot in that area hoping to buy a bathmate soon.

Just ordered 3 bottles of ultra hard by iconic formulations hoping to ramp up my recovery heavily soon. Have 13 herbs will buy my 14th later but gonna start the cycle in either a week or after my fast.

Yeah I've been there man, turning on the microwave with nothing inside, going out for a walk and claiming I had lunch etc. I managed mine for 6 days and in some ways it's the hardest part of the protocol as you can really feel the hunger at times and once you come off your just doing what you need to to get out of this dump.

BTW congrats on the league spurs fan here still wondering what would have happened if the ref didn't give that bs handball against Sissoko :D

It's gonna be tough for us for sure. Top 4 next season would be a miracle. We defo need fresh blood but it's gonna be tough bringing quality in especially now. That amazon documentary on us should be an interesting watch though.

In terms of refeeding mate I broke the fast in the evening of the 6th day with a fruit medley I bought from sainsbury's. Next day was fruit for breakfast like banana and grapes similar for lunch then had some veggies for dinner and then the day after that I eat what I eat now pretty much but smaller portions which is eggs and spinach for breakfast then some veggies and salmon or prawn for lunch then chicken and veg for dinner. Then the day after I was back to my normal eating portions

For what it’s worth, I felt like I had to hide everything I was doing at first, but during my fast I let my parents know what I was doing, I told them I wanted to experience the healthy benefits and showed them a bunch of articles about it so they knew it was safe, during my juice feast my mom was actually supportive and wanted me to let her know the benefits afterward. Granted, during my water fast I don’t think I told them so it may be a little different. Btw I enjoyed the water fast way more even though it’s harder.

But my point is don’t think you need to be extremely secretive through this, I spent months like that and then when I finally came back out of my shell my family and friends thought my new lifestyle was pretty cool. My roommate asks me about it all the time. Just don’t say it’s PFS or freak out, just say you want to better yourself and your health and in my experience, people will eventually respect that.

For example, my grandfather is a biologist and we had a long discussion about water fasting just the either week. People know about fasting and it’s been scientifically proven to show benefits, so make it look like you know what you’re doing and your safe and people will feel better than just thinking you’re insane and not eating food for some reason.

I get you,with my friends they'll understand me taking a back seat on drinking and all the other stuff for a while, but with my parents they just wouldn't listen about the fast so I've put it off for a few months in lockdown and I've reached a point where I just cant stand still with this stuff and feel like I need to commit 100% so I'll do it on the sly for now and hope for the best.

I get you,with my friends they'll understand me taking a back seat on drinking and all the other stuff for a while, but with my parents they just wouldn't listen about the fast so I've put it off for a few months in lockdown and I've reached a point where I just cant stand still with this stuff and feel like I need to commit 100% so I'll do it on the sly for now and hope for the best.

That's the thing putting myself first is what I gotta do here, no ones gonna come and drag you out the hole you gotta do it yourself. Been watching shit tons of jordan peterson and david goggins they put me in the right mindset.

Also gonna make a few adjustments to the diet spoke to maxout about it but it'd make t a lot more managable and as long as I'm gluten free and avoiding extremely unhealthy shit its fine.

Gonna start eating peanut butter despite it being a legume which is'nt allowed in paleo
and bought some protein powder which has xantham gum and sucralose


If theres any glaring errors here feel free to jump down my throat but I think I'm fine with adding these in just gonna listen to my body on this one, I'm alread having dairy so might see how I do with whole milk.

Ok so day two of my fast and I'm not hungry at all and have that clear headed feeling as described which is quite odd, I think all my glycogen stores are gone as I was close to zero carb for the past few days, had a nature valley bar in the evening and thats it as far as carbs go. If I'm already in ketosis on day two then that's happy days.
Just thinking about using toothpaste I'm sure this wont break a fast.

You don't have to salt your water. It's a short fast, and even with a long fast, you still don't have to salt the water. You'll replenish all of that AFTER the fast

I did some research that's where I saw the ting about salt water and electrolytes. It seems fine I just have to refeed properly over 2 days. Take some fruit or easy to digest stuff then the day after meat eggs and veg in smaller portions and should be good to go.

I'm gonna do 6 days I think, been taking it easy and have to be in good shape by next friday to help my dad out with some stuff. The only ball ache is trying to keep it on the dow n low with the fam, so far it's been much easier than I thought.

Yeah I guess you're right on that one but I may get away with it I'm a pretty big dude so hopefully it doesnt show that much and I can just lie.

As far as it goes with my parents they know I crashed but as far as the persistent sides goes they aren't that believing, I've tried to explain it but it's a losing battle. I mentioned fasting to them but my dad was adamant about not doing it and called bullshit about the process. I showed him articles but it's a losing battle, I feel like they'll always be In the mode where they're right i'm wrong.

I feel like it's the better option for me right now to avoid the ball ache and they'll see in time when I'm better stronger and happier. Right now it's my shit and I gotta deal with it myself.

Thanks guys I'd like to push for 7 but we've got to clear out the house of a family member this friday so I'd like to give myself a solid two days of refeeding and then move back into normal portions to be at a sweet level. Think I'll do 6 and a half and start eating about 3:00 tomorrow and have three meals. On day 6 now and i fed my cats this morning and got a whiff of cat food and thought fuck me that smells nice so I'm hungry as fuck right now hahaha.

Feel a lot of my mental sides have cleared up on the fast, I haven't had any brain fog and felt calm and clear. Hoping I'll make big strides soon.

Decided I enjoyed the first fast a bunch especially the results and the challenge and am doing another one as I feel it'll make a big difference. Gonna go for 6 days minimum but would like to hit 7.

Decided to end the fast on 5 wanted to push for 6 and 7 but I've got a lot on atm and can't take it super easy like you would do the final days and anyway I saw that Turnover25 Only did 5 days and hes on the up.

Broke the fast with some cheese, ham and some oranges.

Gonna have some more food before i go to sleep

On the herbs and doing well maca tasteslike shit, I've been doing calisthenics routines with exercise bands, I cant fit the gym in in between work and school for a few months so I'm trying my best getting in the work when i can, will only be a 2 month thing, been doing sprints, feel like I'm on for smooth sailing if I stay consistent feel a lot different about this than I did at the start.

Diets good want to vary it a bit more gonna try some new paleo stuff. Been eating rice and sweet potatoes in the evening and a lot of dairy hasn't affected me really.

Keep pushing boys.

I always say for this regimen, it's a "modified" paleo diet as in we do eat some grains, such as rice and of course, potatoes. Dairy is hit or miss for most guys. I never had any issues with dairy, thankfully, because I love me some cheese....

Yeah I've been loose with some things like chorizo and milk because I've not noticed anything bad when eating them but all the bad shite like fried foods and gluten is gone. I just want to knock this out the park and see the benefits post recovery, I've read all the posts and learnt a lot but I'm just sticking to TMO minus a few of the supps. I'm already in good shape from a couple months without the gym due to pandemic, cant' wait to get that into full gear.

Also thanks for that bathmate recommendation this things fucking next level hahahaha.

Yeah, stop taking them that way. You lose too much as you have seen. The best way to take the herbs is to put some water/juice in your mouth and simply dump the measured herb dose into your mouth, on top of the fluid. Once you do this, you're going to want to swirl your tongue around a bit to mix it altogether before swallowing otherwise you risk having the clump of dried herb stick to your throat on the way down....that's not a fun experience either.....lol.

Yes, caffeine after the herbs has a good boosting effect. IF you can handle caffeine at this point in your recovery.

Well, right now we're talking about caffeine and caffeine only.

How do you know if you can tolerate it or not? Take it and see how it makes you feel. If your anxiety shoots through the roof and you're sweating with tremors and your nerves are frayed, then you can't handle it. If you take it and feel a nice boost with no negatives, then you're good to go.
