Apparently insulin causes fat brown cells to release heat:

Insulin Causes Hyperthermia by Direct Inhibition of Warm-Sensitive Neurons (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2797943/)

And I'm too tired to finish my thoughts on this, but I bet carbless post workouts rely on this mechanism to some extent...

There's normally an insulin peak after workout (when you eat carbs) but we are insulin resistant in the beginning of the night (source: Kiefer in Carb Backloading protocol book)

Kiefer and his CBL craze....

You eat carbs post workout.....nothing to outta this world.

I think super husky guys will do well organizing carbs to post workout, but efficient individuals (from a metabolic stand-point)

Will GET lean and STAY lean eating carbs just about any time...
