The NORKS have nuked themselves again. Here at Ground Zero, Getting ready to duck and cover against the ensuing verbal diarrhea fallout from all the usual suspects in the commentariat. Meanwhile, go bags are out of the basement and on stand-by and personal ordnance is locked and loaded. Good times!

If anyone can survive Korean nuclear war, that will be you bro'!
Knowing you, you're probably in basement surronded with few sexy Korean ladies, dancing Gangham style.

The NORK nuke was apparently a 7 kiloton HEU device. The nice people at this website have provided a handy calculator for determining the circumference of the blast zone.

HYDESim: High-Yield Detonation Effects Simulator (http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/gmap/hydesim.html?dll=37.56654%2C126.97797&mll=37.57456%2C126.98278&yd=7&zm=12&op=156)

We live near the notch in the dotted line north of the greensward ( the old royal palace site) just north of ground zero. That puts us a good 2-3 miles out of the primary. And we all have full NBCs. So we're good. Yippee kai yay!

Or maybe I should go to N. Korea, maybe I would convince Kim Jong that his E2 is too high, start him on AI. His commentariat could monitor his REM erections to gauge right dosage.

You're on to something. During the regime of Kim Jong Il (he of Team America fame), the official NORK state mythology presented him as the Great Mother of the people, a sort of throwback to Korea's distant past as a matriarchal tribal society. Like father like son?

What a robotic movements, it completely fits to Pyongyang. White socks and black shoes add to picture.
I would like to meet one of these female Nork soldiers, alone in dark...

 Heh, heh. The best-looking girls, after those that get recruited for the Dear Leader's "Pleasure Corps" - no BS, get assigned to the overseas restaurants that the NORKS run in various places as a means of earning hard currency. I've been to the ones in Beijing, Shanghai and Siem Reap (Cambodia), and have taken the opportunity to try to flirt with a few of them in Korean. They humored me up to a point (there were minders making sure they didn't cross the line between being good waitresses and fraternizing with the capitalist running dog), but it also was clear that I was the moral equivalent of the big bad wolf in their eyes.

And men have only 10....

March 1st was Korean Independence Day - the memorial for a nationwide protest in 1919 against the Japanese colonization that had commenced in 1910 and didn't end until Japan's defeat by the Allies in 1945. I saw this orchestral flash mob celebration that day downtown, which is an amalgam of the iconic Korean folk song, Arirang, and the Korean national anthem. Very nice.

Here we go again:

BBC News - North Korea ends peace pacts with South (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-21709917)

I'm getting the go baks ready and cleaning and oiling my personal artillery but, unless someone seriously miscalculates, I don't expect to be in harm's way. I'm not ruling out an exchange of fire between north and south, though; in fact I consider that likely, just far enough a way not to be personally bothersome.
