I don't believe runners were targeted specifically. I feel it was a because of other factors, most importantly the on site media, the large dense crowd and that today is patriots day (celebrating the first battle of the revolutionary war.).

I refuse to watch news coverage of it because I'll just get fucking pissed. I'll read up on it online or in the paper, it's better than watching some fake TV personality put their spin and emotion into.
That being said, when I read about this I felt like shit, lump in the throat, knot in the guts kind of feeling. Along with that came a slow infuriating rage that I can't quite shake as of yet. It might help if they said who did this because I have no one to target just yet. I haven't felt bad like this in a long while.
