Need help with dehydration and ED

Hey all, asking for ideas and thoughts on what could be going on with me.

I've been on this forum for a year now, it has been a place of great support and help to get out of hell caused by Minoxidil. You guys are amazing and special thanks to CD

A backstory of this. Started the protocol with a 3day fast a year ago from now in January 2022. Worth noting I went for 100% of it - lifting weights 3 days a week, Paleo diet, herbs, supplements, cold showers, breathing, ultra hard cycle.

I was truly getting better for the first half the year. My performance and sex drive was up, mood and confidence got better, I was able to sleep 6-8hours per day and did not have panic attacks.

Then I started getting gut issues in June 2022. After a couple months of struggling with it and being extremely bloated every dayfrom any food, my gastro doctor found gastritus that was treated with antibiotics for a few weeks. As I cured gastritus, the discomfort was gone and I have never felt so much better.

After this I have had a month of October of a really good upswing. I was confident talking to girls, enjoying work, just generally having euphoric feeling going through life. You know what I am talking about.

This is where the problem begins. After October, things really took turn and I jumped into the downswing I have never able to get out of, regardless of still strictly doing 100% protocol non-stop. Here are my general symptoms now:

Constant dehydration for no reason
I drink two gallons of water per day and I am still always thirsty
My urine changed color from being watery to yellow, which indicates some dehydration going on internally
My skin and lips always dry and cracking
Regular minox crash downswing symptoms but not as bad as a year ago
ED
Limp veiny penis
No morning wood
More moody
Hard to smile and feel positive
Interesting notices
After trying alcohol once or twice in half a year - it makes me horny and makes my penis hard like Viagra does not do that to me- alcohol did not do that before
I started feeling alcohol and feeling euphoric with it, it wasn't like that before.

Definitely not consuming alcohol as that is not part of the protocol. I'm staying on the protocol 100%, as well, considering another round of prohormones soon. I want to hear from you guys if there's anything similar you experienced and how I can get out of this plateau. It is really awful that a downswing can last that long and start so abruptly . It is demoralizing that just staying on a protocol does not do an inch to make it easier or better. Something else can be the issue.

Do you know if I can do any gut test or any blood test to figure out what's going on?

Hey man! I am a new PFSer so I don't think I will be of much use, but I have read many stories and am willing to brainstorm ideas.

My first thought is that there is something consistent in your diet that could trigger a response like this. Try altering some foods and see what happens maybe?

My Second thought is hypokalemia. This would be caused by too much pine pollen usually but can be corrected by increasing potassium intake. I've seen that hypokalemia can cause excessive thirst along with making PFS symptoms worse so it's a possibility. Also, this is a fucking long shot in the dark but you might feel better drinking alcohol because some alcohol contains potassium which is helping correct this issue.

Thanks man,I appreciate your thoughts. hypokalemia is interesting. I'm definitely eating 2-5 bananas/day so that should be able to help with potassium levels. However, I went through a few rounds of antibiotics this fall and they could be causing some funky stuff in my body.

Decided I will do a basic blood test and gut biome test to see what is going on . My hopes are relatively low, can't pinpoint what the exact issue is

Couple of things here.

1) Constant thirst (no matter how much water you drink) is one of the biggest symptoms of diabetes. Make an appointment with your doctor for a urine test, if there is glucose in your urine then you most likely have diabetes. If not, then it could be your diet or some other issue.

2) You only fasted for 3 days, which is not really enough. 7 days is the minimum that CD recommends, so I would do that — but first get checked out for diabetes.

3) Do what I did and put “ihateit” and “road to recover” on your ignore list. Both accounts are run by the same guy.

Thanks man Let's Go, really thankful for the suggestion. Let me get that figured out, I will check urine with my doctor, really hope it is something we can fix.

It is still weird for me that alcohol makes me horny and raises libido.

Perhaps you're on the mobile version of swolesource, the ignore button seems not to be on there. But you can do it on a computer, simply view the profile of the user you want to ignore. Then the option to add them to the ignore list should be on the left side of the screen, under their profile picture

i will say that cdnuts invented rotation of supps and that did help me for years with very mild ofs, simply rotating vitd3 zinc and magnesium before my world fell apart.

Hey all. An update on feeling dehydrated and Ed. I'm still pretty much at the same spot, nothing changed. Mentally and physically I feel 80% but I know it could be better.

I metabolic panel exam. My sugars and glucose levels are fine, I do not have diabetes like it was suspected earlier.

I do have high LDL cholesterol of 107 mg/dL but I don't think that relates to the problem, as my HDL cholesterol is also a higher levels, but they balance each other in a good normal ratio.

Guys, what else could be going on with me?, I'm still feeling dehydrated and drink like crazy 2 gallons a day

I’m glad to hear that you don’t have diabetes!

If we’re talking about your thirst issue, blood cholesterol won’t have anything to do with that. Even if you had 500 total cholesterol and high blood pressure, you would not feel sick from it. If you have elevated sodium, that could make you very thirsty since your body wants you to drink more water to dilute the sodium concentration in your blood.

If you’re interested in learning about the health effects of blood cholesterol on health, I would check out the many videos on this topic by NutritionFacts.org on their website or YouTube channel. They go over actual scientific studies and explain it. On the other hand, other people have semi-religious views on the topic and if they see things differently, that’s fine by me.

I would really go see another / a better doctor about the excessive thirst issue. I don’t think anyone on this board is a medical doctor, and excessive thirst is not a common PFS side effect. I haven’t heard anyone else with PFS mention this kind of extreme thirst, so it might be an unrelated medical condition that you’d need help from a doctor for. They probably haven’t run all of the tests they can run. Some doctors will know more than others and someone should be able to figure it out with the right tests, but it’s probably not going to be anyone here.

I will start going to doctors and checking myself until I can find what is going on.

I think it is weird that I am able to feel alcohol again and it makes me feel like Alfa and raises my libido and makes me get easier boners

I think dry skin is one of the PFS symptoms. Has a lot of guys here have identified that as well. I agree with you that it could be something else, it's just freaking annoying that it's been stalling my progress while my protocol is 100%.

And what's also interesting is that I see immense in gym. It's been a year on the protocol, and I've gained a good 15 lb of muscle, I look really ripped now.

That unfortunately does not line up with how I feel, and Ed and no confidence is still there.
