Introduction: What am I going through? PSF?
Hi everyone, found this forum and appreciate all the information here. However I guess my case is a little different as there are other factors than just finasteride. I will set up a timeline for the sake of illustration.
I am 25 years old from northern europe.
13th may: starting finasteride 0,5mg
16th may: aching in testicles but goes away some days later
26th may: smoking weed (not a reguler smoker), experiencing a bad trip with several panic attacks
27th may: after sleeping, i am alright from the bad trip however experiencing derealization throughout the day
28th may: i am my old self, having fun and preparing for exams. the weed experience was just a fun story to tell now.
8th june: noticing my right breast to have formed tissue, it seems bigger than my left breast. QUITTING FINASTERIDE.
14th june: i have had a really good day, no sides from anything finasteride related. during the evening, i get this heavy derealization feeling again and having a panic attack.
14th june - till now:
My life changed after that last panic attack. I have had:
☻constant anxiety
☻unreasonable fear for everything
☻insomnia
☻depression
☻nasty thoughts about giving up
☻aching in my balls
☻having derealization (has lessened pretty much)
☻low libido
☻impotence
☻fatigue
☻dreaming a lot
☻some days getting 7 hours sleep, other days 1 hour
☻hot flashes (the first to weeks only)
☻brain fog
☻constant elevated heart rate
☻detached from reality
☻is this a dream?
As to my blood results, my pre fin T level was 17nmol (8-28), it had decreased to 5nmol after my first crash. A week later it had become 20nmol!
UPDATE EDIT: my thyroid numbers are within normal range now.
What is very surprising here is my thyroid function. I suddenly became hyperthyroid! I cannot see the connection between PFS and hyperthyroidisim. This condition MIGHT cause many of my symptoms, I am having a meeting with an endocrinologist tomorrow.
I am currently on magnesium, omega 3 fish oil, GABA and multi vitamins. Eating lots of kefir. Eating lots of proteins, low carb and drinking only water.
Due to my fatigue and ball aches, I cannot really work out.
Have I messed with my brain completely due to bad trip + PFS?
Any input is highly appreciated.
