New beard growth - why?

Hey guys,

I noticed that in the last month i've begun shaving higher and higher and the missus has started picking hairs from my cheekbone area! This doesn't much bother me but i'm a curious chap and after an hour of searching the web i see that lots of opinions differ on what activates greater beard growth and what makes it thicker.

The general opinion seems to be that DHT activates hair follicles (body and beard hair) and testosterone makes it grow thicker and perhaps faster.

The only thing i've really been doing differently this past 6 weeks is A- taking citrulline malate and B- eating sorghum flour daily.

I started eating more and more sorghum to see if i could raise DHT to a point that i felt the difference. I've definitely felt significantly more energy etc. but that could be from the citrulline which i've become a big fan of.

I'm wondering whether all the guys here that ramp up DHT with PHs experience these kind of changes in beard growth? This would obviously indicate that DHT creates more beard/body hair and confirm that i've naturally raised my own DHT likely via sorhham. FYI i've always taken sorghum, but only a very small amount in distilled syrup form with coffee. Only just started making daily pancakes with the stuff as an experiment.

Care to comment?

DHT compounds always give me hair growth and darkening as does added testosterone :)

Androhard is directly responsible for my being able to grow a respectable beard. Before I ran a couple of cycles of that it was kinda patchy and stupid looking.

Thanks guys, Pretty conclusive responses there. It helps me as it's pretty clear that i've raised DHT through sorghum most likely, as a December blood test showed my T and free T was already naturally high and i had no such additional facial hair. For anyone interested then, the balance of probabilities show that taking distilled sorgham as syrup is largely ineffectual at raising DHT versus using 100% sorghum flour to make pancakes or whatever (on a daily basis). This makes sense given that we already know the more a food is processed the less beneficial it tends to be.
If others fancy trialling the same thing to make this conclusion a little better evidenced, simply make yourself a pancake each evening with just sorghum, eggs, full fat milk. I've always added some honey and fruit juice to make into a healthy but tasty desert similar to the french desert crepe suzettes, then report back after a month to 6 weeks. Might be interesting as it might be a much cheaper method of signicantly raising DHT (studies show a 56% (from memory) increase in DHT following sorghum supplementation)

Presumably naturally increasing AR5 expression through sorghum or other natural means will effect T levels too to some degree, but it could be upwards or downwards given DHT suppresses both E and the HTPA. Not sure about this - comment?

Hey buddy, i remember you mentioning your beard came back but didn't know whether that was through your recovery or from cycling. You sound pretty clear though that its from AH so thanks for that.

Nah. I couldn't grow a full beard until I was 26 and had two cycles under my belt!

Hopefully all this epiandro will help me out. I rock a scruffy beard that looks good, but could easily fill out a bit more.

Add some nizoral 2% to the area daily. Let it sit on for 5 minutes and rinse.

Was easily available on Ebay up until last week..now the Feds directed them to remove all Nizoral 2% sales. You can get it in the US with a script.

maybe I need to try more epiandro/etc. I have the worlds crappiest facial hair growth...sometimes I like that I only need to shave 1-2 time a week, but if I want to rock a 5 o'clock shadow, I have to start a few days early.

Don't do this. The reason nizoral is good for male pattern baldness is it occupies the dht receptor in the place of dht, but dht actually makes your facial hair grow in darker and thicker.. Personally I think dht is just one component of going bald.. But that's definitely why all the hairloss products work.

He does, but the area is on his face! Facial hair is directly related to the amount of dht in your system. Unfortunately for baldness prone guys, it seems like dht plays a big role in losing scalp hair, therefore blocking the receptors with ketoconazole (sp?) is actually a potent anti-androgen has a positive effect on scalp hair. It'd have the reverse effect on facial hair though.

Anyone want to grow hair in a specific area of his body just rub it daily
with Castor oil and see the results very fast.

I am using it now to regrow back my hair mixed with Coconut oil and Palm fruit oil
and the results are very good so far, my oil mix is:

1- Cold pressed castor oil
2- Extra virgin coconut oil
3- Organic red palm oil
4- Extra virgin olive oil
5- Grape seed oil

I used to rub my back when i had a torn muscle with Castor oil
as it gives a very good pain relief but the hair in that area
became more than all of my back.

This one dosn't have any smell and very thick that you will need just a little drops
and mix it with olive oil and rub your beard with it.

Oddly enough I have seen it grow new facial hair as well as body hair.

We used this with clients in the past to elminate acne. It is anti fungal and for whatever reason back in the 90's I cant remember why, we all started using Nizoral 2%. Applied to the body, or face, let it sit for 5-10mins and rinse.

Every one of us had massive hair growth in those areas. I honestly cannot explain it, other then confirm this. What sux is I never had body hair on my stomach/abs/chest. I was getting a few pimples and inflammation from Tren and so I did the nizoral 2% trick. I can only guess but maybe the receptors in the area down regulated and then the reintroduction of dht = puberty like spurt? That could be really interesting, I've read about a doctor (pezzi, he's a fruitloop but respected somehow) using finasteride to downregulate dht receptors, then introducing andractim to grow his cock but I figured the guy was just categorically fucking insane.

Ugh.

Why not just use a bathmate and blast yourself with DHT. Much safer and you would still get upregulation of DHT receptors without having to down regulate first. That just sounds ridiculous.

Anyone want to try that finasteride experiment......lol

I think he's theory was that by downregulating the enzyme, he could recreate the growth spurt we get in puberty. Like super sensitive receptors + high amounts of dht + yohimbine (alpha blockers increase blood flow in general) would increase the size/sensitivity etc of his junk. I read it in one of his books about hormonal adjustment. I remember it sticking in my brain cause he was one of the guys treating the accutane community.. Made me lol massively that he was giving these poor bastards another poison to cure their poisoning haha.

Edit - dude is Kevin Pezzi M.D, seems I actually read his stuff when I stumbled on pegym researching dht and puberty.

All of that about Pezzi brightened my day up somewhat, but is does go to show that some guys are just not negatively affected at all during and/or post 5 AR inhibitors. Some guys piss around for decades with their hormones and are just fine. I'm thinking it probably requires a certain carefree attitude as well as some genetic coding that we don't possess.

By the way, some guys are meant to be afflicted with a fungal growth in their follicles that stops the hair growth and this is what Nizoral was designed to remove, which then allows the hair to grow. This is what it's sold for in the UK in most pharmacies and for reasons of anti-dandruff which is a symptom of the fungal growth. Getting rid of it in very affected guys will always result in greater hair growth wherever it's used, but given that it also happens to be a powerful DHT blocker i agree with you that it maybe should be left off the face. That said, what if one was to use it a few times in succession, kill the bugs, then cessation for months? Repeat. Maybe that would be best of both worlds dependent on length of DHT action.....

Hmm...I've never heard of this before, and I've looked around for some tips and tricks. From everything I've read it sounded like you're either born to have a good beard or you're not. My beard isn't the worst, but it's thin and I absolutely hate that. With the low cost of castor oil, it could be worth a shot... I need a full beard for these cold NH winters!

I certainly can't verify the suggestion from Hossam, but i can tell you for sure that what you eat and how you live your life greatly influences your hair growth in terms of thickness, density, speed of growth, beard, body, head hair, the lot. Obviously it is about maximising what you have been given and some of us are given alot, some not much!!! I've been both very sick and very healthy. Night and day regards beard and head hair health, thickness etc.

Castor oil is the shit man but I take mine orally as I get better results. It converts to PGE2 in the body which stimulates hair growth and pigmentation. I take about 1-2 ml orally per day. It definitely has thickened up my scalp hair and facial hair and eyebrows/lashes.

Hi tubzy, i am really impressed with the wealth of knowledge you possess and then share which is really a big service to guys like me.
I came across a post where you mentioned about finding a new protocol to stop hairloss from DHT prohormones, which included selsun blue shampoo as well as two lesser known drugs: with one of them being setipiprant.
Being a fin/dut sufferer, would it be safe for me to try this protocol?
As stupid as I may seem, I dont wanna lose my hair ( dont have the face to go bald) lol.

How has your experience been and alternatively wouldnt PRP treatments be enough to stop shedding from prohormones?

I was actually looking into the ketaconazole stuff for awhile. But im assuming it could have a bad effect like propecia has.
