Cycling while cutting versus bulking
Matt Porter wrote an article on the old PP board concerning cycling while cutting and not cycling while bulking. The gist was we easily bulk by increasing calories, volume of lifts, extra rest, etc. He recommended using compouds while cutting to preserve the muscle you've gained while bulking. This goes against a lot of conventional wisdom. Thoughts/ideas?

Submaintence calories are catabolic by nature, which is why he says to counteract it and the resulting muscle loss with anabolic agents. During the bulking period you can stay "anabolic" with sufficient and proper food/ calories. He never said not to use anabolics during a bulk, but if you had to choose between the two, use them for the cut.
