Right. But the point isn't to compensate for loss but, rather, extend the half life. Androsterone only has a half life of about 30-60 minutes due to the fast metabolism that occurs from CYP3A4. Inhibiting CYP3A4 extends it considerably, according to studies. Otherwise, you'd have to add a methyl group to the molecule to extend the half life, like they did with Proviron with the DHT molecule.
