There are Crossfit gyms that are smart about programming, that pay more than lip service to injury prevention and sustainability. They do exist; I belong to one.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of Crossfit gyms that are completely stupid about programming, and a culture of programming stupidity within Crossfit. This accident was pretty dire, but I know of a whole lot of less-dire-but-still-ugly ones.
