This compound was originally released into the bodybuilding supplement market by Gaspari Nutrition as “Halodrol-50″. Unlike most compounds, it had not previously been studied by steroid researchers in the pharmaceutical industry. The target hormone, Oral Turinabol, was used both clinically and as part of the East German doping machine.

Structure and Function:
Commercial h-drol clones contain a mixture of 3a- and 3b-hydroxylated stereoisomers. H-drol is taken as a “prohormone” (precursor) to Oral Turinabol. It is transformed into Oral Turinabol by the dehydrogenas enzyme 3bHSD. The 4-chloro modification prevents Halodrol from aromatizing.

Like stanozolol (Winstrol), furazabol, and methylepitiostanol (“Epistane”), methyldiazirinol is a mestanolone (methyl-DHT) derivative that has a heterocyclic ring fused to the A-ring of the steroid. In methyldiazirinol this takes the form of a diazirine moiety at carbon 3.
