    Inversion Table.....

I've been kicking around the idea of picking a inversion table but thought I'd ask if they are worth the cash for a nice one or more of a gimmick that will end up taking up space in my house or be used as a clothes hanger.
My local Costco has a decet one and with there return policy I could just try it out and return it if I don't feel it worth the cash but that's really not my style.

Any of your guys have/use an inversion table if so what's your thoughts on it?

For L5: I've had a professional decompression treatment on a machine and harness with ~80lbs of force (at pretty specific angle - so not just down like an inversion table) oscillating over 25 min or so. A few months (1-3x a week), It actually did give ~2-3mm back to disc and took away the pain since. This was in 2008.

I have a home use table myself now. It does work, but generally to actually get the disc scar tissue broken you need to be nearly fully inverted and for 15-25min imo something "clinically significant". The types of tables for home use will bear on your knees and ankles so if you already are injured there too keep that in mind. You also sort of have to "ease" into it adding a few minutes or angle, you're toying with ligaments here. Don't go 25 min all the way your first time.

FYI too, I'm not sure if you're doing this for low back pain but the "Low Back Lacrosse Ball Smash" is best way to take away tight points with out paying for a massage. I do that ~2x/week.

If you have minor pain (ie not a herniated or flared disc) home use table will probably help. I have heard of people doing it with flares, but that's scary to me, I'd wait until it calms down. If you don't have any pain maybe its a waste of time, unless you're looking at those studies about brain size maintenance etc.

    ^ All IMO.

I don't have any crazy issues other than I tweak it every now and then and I've always felt one of these would work.
Thanks for the info and if I end up getting one I'll for sures start slow.
I'll have to hit CL and see if I can find one someone doesn't want for cheap.

I'd probably get my fat ass stuck up there.
Didn't see a safety release. Lol

I posted this on another forum too and I'll be getting one soon.

    Inversion Table.....

I have one similar to the one posted in the link. I like it for helping my lower back , it just helps to straighten out knots.

It also helps align your hips which I have a slightly shorter leg on the left.

I like it and glad I have it.

I have a teeter hang up and I like it. Definitely works out the kinks.

Found This last night and will be calling on it shortly.
I'll be offering 150 for it and hope to take it home for no more than 200.

That's a good deal. I paid about 400 for mine at a fitness store.
