D-Aspartic Acid Question and Noobie question

    Hi,

I do agree a significant part of this is psychological positive feedback loop, as I felt a lot better reading the posts on here, so am glad to have found this site.

If I recall correctly I remember CD advocating/taking DAA on PH; it did seem a promising supplement with a purported 40% T boost. I am wondering why it is not discussed anymore or recommended on the total optimization site?

I have been put off purchasing it, due to it not being well-studied and there being potential neurotoxicity.

Now my noobie question( I really couldn't find the information) is I don't understand how prohormones can help in the long run if they do suppress natural production. Is it something about the tissues?
Also what happens if you stop taking the herbs after getting to a really positive place, I understand English does not take them any anymore?

    Thanks

Welcome. Others are far more versed in the science than me, but I will give my input from what I have picked up from others and from personal experience.

Firstly, DAA was previously recommended as part of a PCT after taking the pro hormones. Since, the effectiveness of the herbs from Lost Empire Herbs are deemed superior and as a result the herb rotation provides a more than ample PCT on its own accord for the mild compounds we are talking about using here, for which suppression is very minimal.

In terms of DAA, I still have some
From my old 'Wicked Supplements' PCT left over and run it on rotation as a herb, and I find it really does give me a boost, one of the more notable boosts. I would recommend anyone give it a try and have never had any negatives from
    It's use.

As for the pro hormone question, as I understand it a pro hormone is not the 'finished article' and is a compound that your body then converts to such... this is the difference between anabolic steroids, which are already the direct finished article when they enter the body. The process of converting the PH in the body is where the benefit is, it means the body has to create the necessary enzymes (5-a, for example) to do this process and the fact that these enzymes remain present to an extent after the cycle is where the long term benefit comes from. Read my
Thread on my R-Andro cycle to see how it affected me.

In terms of pro hormone suppression, the compounds we typically use have extremely little suppression, the DHT and DHEA pro hormones particularly. I have friends that use anabolic steroids for bodybuilding and their nuts shrink to the size of small grapes when they are on. You get milder anabolic results with the PH's, but they are very safe in my opinion.

As for the herbs, once you are healed you don't NEED to take them, although they will continue to do great things for you, make you feel great and optimise your health, so you may very well want to.. st least periodically.

Time ago I did have read studies on internet claiming that DAA do not boost testo but decrease it. I also have DAA from 'Wicked Supplements' but never used it for this reason.. try to make a deeper research on the internet and you will find it out.. I do not know if those studies are true or not, but just in case they are, I prefer to not use it.

I've used DAA on many instances all throughout my recovery. Like Swill, I usually notice a good boost from it. I always tend to use it with Mucuna Pruriens to avoid any of the high prolactin sides that come with DAA. Other than that - I think it's good to go. I no longer use it now, but I see no problem from using it.

    Thanks for the info guys.

I am currently formulating my herbal stack, so may supplement DAA– I am trying be uber cautious about any potential side effects.
Ok, cheers Swill—that's interesting about the prohormones; I think I will probably need them in the future: my current plan is to try herbal t boosters and general health supplements for three months in a stress-free environment—then I will look into prohormones and other options.

I'm also glad that I saw the Dr. Bouloux thread today as I was planning to make an appointment with him or Dr Jenkins! I have previously had a bad experience with a top specialist in Harley Street and am now thinking this is definitely not the way to go—at least yet.

Not really ideal IMO, can increase estrogen and prolactin

Running it like you are isn't going to cause any issues. Running it the recommended 12 on, 12 off may, which is where you would need to worry about prolactin. I never got any prolactic sides from it, but did always stack it with Mucuna.
