    Kidney/Liver values

Hey fellas. Got my bloods done and came back with slightly elevated Kidney and Liver values:

    BUN - 24
    Creatinine - 1.38

    AST - 47
    ALT - 46

Now, my creatinine always comes back high. I always assumed it was due to muscle damage and deemed it ok. Am I ippy'ing this??

The BUN, again from the little I know, can be due to a high protein diet, which mine sort of is. About 380 g protein/day

As far as the liver values, I also hear that those can be elevated by muscle damage.

What are you guys' thoughts on that? Should I go on some liver support? Are the kidney values acceptable?

    Thanks!

High creatinine can also be result of too high protein intake. Too much protein is definitely not good for kidneys. And even elevated liver values are probably connected to it.

My diet right now has 4964 calories.
    434.5 Protein
    681 Carbs
    53.8 Fat

I'm prepping to compete. You think those values are damaging? anything I should do to mitigate, if I am to stay at those values? Thanks Jelisej!!

It also could be result of overtraining (muscle damage as you pointed) but I kind of ruled that out as I beleive you are quite in good shape, well trained and probably have enough rest.
I'm not really specialist in diet, to be honest- but your protein seems way to high to me, anyway I would wait to see what others will say- there are few guys here who have more knowledge in training-diet, hopefully theywill respond.

unfortunately, rest hasn't been ideal. working on fixing that. as far as the creatinine goes, from my limited knowledge, i thought it was natural for lifters, because of micro tears alone.

anyway, thanks a bunch for the input!

    Re: Kidney/Liver values

Liver values look fine to me. Mine consistently are on the higher end of the normal range and if you were causing serious damage your values wouldn't just be around the high end of the range, they would be 2 or 3 times those numbers.

High creatnine level means not enough protein is being excreted through your urine. Trust me on this, I have kidney disease. Get referred to a urologist to make sure your bladder is emptying as it should be (it could be holding a few ounces after you urinate). He'll (or she) will refer you to a nephrologist if need be.

I need to check the normal values, but I believe your number is over the "norm", but nothing to be alarmed about.
