    PFS: 20 years

    Aloha,

    Background
I took Accutane in 1998 and again in 2001. Starting in 2002, I noticed a host of physical and psychological symptoms that only got worse in 2003. I now recognize these as PFS. I had no idea what PFS was, and, basically, I spent 2002-2006 focusing on my anxiety from a psycho-therapy perspective totally unaware of the impact this drug had on my endocrine system.

    A Very SLE Distraction

A huge curveball hit me in 2006 when I was diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) and hit with terrible, god-awful, soul-crushing brain fog. I assumed I would never finish school, never hold down a job, never be able to meaningfully participate in the world, etc. It took me 13 years but my Lupus symptoms are now finally under control! I have a stable professional gig and managed to get through a Masters degree. Likewise, with a series of biofeedback modalities- in tandem with trauma processing therapy- I've pretty much resolved my psychological PFS symptoms and Lupus brain fog and earlier trauma in life. [These therapies include Trauma Releasing exercises (TRE); Neurofeedback (NF); Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS); The Integrated Listening System (ILS); The Learning Breakthrough Program (LBP); Heart Math. Also, literally one hypnotherapy session clamed down my racing mind - it cost a $10 copay and worked better than interventions that cost thousands of dollars! LOL]

Now, I want to address the physical symptoms of PFS and correct hormone imbalances. I feel disconnected from my innate aggression/assertiveness/sexuality and have physical PFS symptoms. According to a RHEIN 24-hour hormone panel, I have low levels of 5a-THF.
It's been 20 years since I first took Accutane so it may be a 5-10+ year process on the CDNUTs protocol for me to optimize my results. However, it took me to decade to tackle Lupus when many of my peers would have thrown in the towel. I also resolved PTSD too, so I'm totally on a roll and down to spend another (half?)-decade grappling with PFS :P

I'll keep people posted. I will look forward to having a hormone panel done at regular intervals to keep me motivated.

Sounds incredibely tough man. Admire it that you pushed through. As with any autoimmune disease (like lupus), fasting seems to be the absolute best thing to do. I see you're saying u beat it, but it still will probably help you a looot. Fasting and lots of sun exposure are huge. It's like yo body on steroids healing itself.
And I love the attitude that you're not searching for a quick fix
    Keep it up !

Here is my blood work (yes, I am well aware that lab tests are an imperfect gauge of PFS. However, I want to have one external source of reference as I heal outside my own subjective observations).

Week 1 update- Just did my first round of HIIT yesterday, followed by D-day for weights. (I joined a gym by my Metro station in Washington, DC- it's cheap AF!) I felt amazing after the HIIT workout- 8 minutes sprinting on an exercise bike. I will progress with weights slowly in order not to injure myself. Eyes on the prize!
