as much as there's no need to go over our disagreements on govt policies (as we've been over those before) i think the ones who aren't taking it as seriously are more aligned with this thinking:

Can we just register this as the sort of fraud, waste and abuse that is endemic to bloated bureaucracies and move on to deal with that without all the tinfoil hat stuff.

I'm not really looking to start a new debate either. It just shocks me that it's not sending up a red flag for more people. There are some powerful people out there who will never stop trying to disarm civilians and unfortunately, they will succeed (for the most part).
